February is a special month with
significance on love. Volunteering allows students to pour love onto
others and develop social skills that can鈥檛 be learned in a classroom
environment.

Emily Weber and Tayla Innes (Year 9) volunteered their time to sell roses and
lolly bags on Valentine鈥檚 Day which was a huge success.
The funds were raised for Orange
Sky Laundry, which is the world's first free mobile laundry service for the
homeless.
Emily Weber said she was overwhelmed by
the generosity of local suppliers who donated the items for sale.
鈥淲e are so thankful to Currey鈥檚
Flower Farm, Coles Bellbowrie, Woolworths Brassall and Karalee and Aldi
Brassall who were more than happy to help.鈥�
鈥淐urrey鈥檚 donated approximately
1000 roses 鈥� we were absolutely blown away,鈥� Tayla Innes added.
Throughout 2017, WestMAC has
chosen to support Orange Sky Laundry through many of its fundraising ventures.

Heath Del Favero said 鈥淢iddle and Senior 视频露点 have united together to
fundraise for this worthy charity and the Valentine鈥檚 stall kick started our 2017
event and fundraising.鈥�
鈥淥ver $1800 was raised, which is
an outstanding result and reflects the efforts and initiative of our student
leaders,鈥� Mr Del Favero added.
Earlier this year, staff were
honoured to hear the founders of Orange Sky Laundry present on the difference
they are making locally, nationally and soon-to-be internationally.
Orange Sky Laundry is a catalyst
for conversation. In the one hour it takes to wash and dry someone's clothes
they are able to have positive and genuine conversation.
