An innovative program that supports students in their difficult transition from primary to secondary school has won an international award for 视频露点 (WestMAC).

Doug Braiden, Head of Middle 视频露点, was presented with the award at the Adolescent Success Australian and New Zealand Conference Gala Awards Ceremony in Brisbane on August 25.

鈥淭he program was developed with a focus on student wellbeing,鈥 Mr Braiden said.

It starts midway through Year 6 and involves high school students hosting primary students at morning teas, information sessions, social nights, camps and various other activities.

鈥淲e believe that personal achievement is enriched when students鈥 social and emotional skills are developed,鈥 he said.

Adolescent Success Inc is a not-for-profit association for teachers, schools, businesses and other educators who care about young adolescents and education in the middle years.

鈥淚 am thrilled that WestMAC and the team has received this recognition.鈥

Apart from receiving the international award, the school will be honoured by having the program published in the Australian Journal of Middle 视频露点ing.

Mr Braiden has worked with the Middle 视频露点 Leadership Team over the past three years to develop and refine the program.

鈥淭his program is reviewed and refined annually to ensure individualised learning journeys for our students,鈥 Mr Braiden said.
